In addition to its own international network, NKG has established a cooperation with partner companies under the structure of the non-profit company International Coffee Partners GmbH (ICP) which was founded in early 2001. With corporate responsibility in mind, ICP is helping to promote the development and implementation of the sustainability concept in the coffee sector through practical project work. The shareholders are four prominent European coffee roasting companies: Luigi Lavazza S.p.A. (Italy), Löfbergs Lila A.B. (Sweden), Gustav Paulig Ltd. (Finland) and Tchibo Frisch-Röst-Kaffee GmbH (Germany), and Neumann Gruppe GmbH (Germany).
In view of the difficult situation which many coffee producers face, ICP is realizing projects which focus on economic and social development as well as ecological sustainability while improving production, processing and marketing potential as well as the livelihood and working conditions of coffee producers and their families.
ICP's projects are real hands-on approaches that are being implemented in cooperation with international development organizations under the concept of public-private partnership.
