NKG has been contributing to job creation and the transfer of professional coffee know-how in coffee producing countries for many years. Many group companies offer internship programs for young professionals and promote the skills of their employees through vocational training. The exchange of ideas and the collaboration with local institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations are essential elements in NKG companies' continued dialogue within producing countries.
In addition to conducting its daily business, NKG also undertakes specific actions to promote rural development in coffee producing areas.
NKG has been offering the group's professional coffee expertise to third parties through E.D.E. Consulting for Coffee since 1991. One of their main objectives is to contribute to the improvement of living conditions of smallholder coffee farmers.
Neumann Kaffee Gruppe is creating an internationally diversified coffee farming group under the direction of NKG Tropical Farm Management with farms in Mexico, Brazil and Uganda as well as farm management companies active in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and El Salvador. All operations will be run in an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable manner according to the "NKG Standards for Sustainable Coffee Production" which have been developed at Finca La Puebla in Mexico.
Hanseatische Natur- und Umweltinitiative e.V. (HNUI) is a foundation which sponsors small scale ecological projects in Germany as well as in coffee producing countries. A large number of NKG companies and employees support HNUI's projects through financial contributions.
