19 young professionals from coffee producing countries are currently participating in the NKG Coffee Diploma program initiated by Neumann Kaffee Gruppe. Over a period of 18 months, participants receive hands-on training at several NKG companies as well as theoretical group seminars which offer comprehensive insight into the international coffee business.
Coffee is a major export good for many developing and threshold countries and it plays a significant role in reducing poverty and fostering development. However, due to a lack of know-how and training opportunities many countries are unable to take full advantage of the coffee industry’s potential. The aim of the NKG Coffee Diploma is not to recruit young professionals for the group, but rather to encourage them to meet some of the challenges in their home countries by contributing to economic, social and environmental development there.
The NKG Coffee Diploma is the only educational program related to coffee that takes place on an international scale and brings together know-how from exporting and importing countries. It reflects the multifaceted nature of the business and offers participants a platform for learning and dialogue.
